When an organization goes through a reduction in force, it is just as important to have a plan in place for working with those who will remain with the organization as it is for those who will be directly affected by job losses. This is just as true for layoffs triggered by a public health emergency such as the COVID-19 pandemic as it is for layoffs caused by more common factors, such as a merger or a decline in customer demand.
